Forthcoming Events

Easter Holiday: 6th to 9th of April 2012 - Glencoe

Where: 3 Star Ballachulish Hotel, Ballachulish, Glencoe

I have arranged 3 night’s Dinner, Bed and Breakfast accommodation at the above on a £60 per head per night basis, Single rooms have a £22 supplement and kids are £10 each to cover food.

The hotel is set in the most wonderful location looking down the loch just after the bridge and as the attached sheet shows is an imposing place.
The options for arriving are those wanting to drive up should meet at Luss on Loch Lomond for the West coast or Tyndrum for those driving from the East and then up the great glen to the hotel. Those from down south can stay in Milngavie and parking for trailers and modern cars arranged. If you want to drive straight to the hotel then there are 2 car parks on site for trailers and modern cars.

There are great roads around Glencoe and up to Fort William and Mallaig so the plans would be to explore these on Saturday and Sunday. Again we can all head home Monday visiting various beauty spots on the way.

No deposit is required and any cancellations prior to 28 days before are free. A fee is paid if more than 3 rooms are cancelled to within 5 days of arrival then a full cancellation charge is payable. It will be your responsibility to pay this charge is you cancel in the last 5 days.

With no ferries the cost is £360 per couple or £264 for a single. Kids 5 to 15 are £10 each per night for food only.

I have initially booked 15 rooms with an option of 5 more but really need numbers before mid December to secure rooms and rates.

This should be a super Easter trip so do let me know if you are interested in coming.

We are all looking forward to the weekend at Glenfernate Estate near Kirkmichael.

We’re all looking forward to the weekend at Glenfernate Estate near Kirkmichael. All the arrangements are in hand, the house and camping / caravanning field are being prepared. The sheep are currently mowing the lawn for us and ensuring excellently fertile and soft ground for all those tent pegs!!

The costs for the weekend are as follows: -

Tent / Caravan / Campervan £4= per night
Barbecue (Meat and Rolls only) £6= per person
House Guests (D, B & B) Sorry fully booked

Friday nights a Burns night, Haggis Neeps and Tatties… all things Burns. Beware you might be asked to Burn something….

Saturday, a trip to the Edradour distillery (Scotland’s smallest distillery) then a trip in to Pitlochry by the smallest windiest roads. Then head back at your leisure to the beautiful Glenfernate and enjoy the warm sun. As night falls the BBQ begins, sausages, burgers, steaks and plenty of rolls, so eat up and be merry, play some music and sing along.

Sunday….. The night after the famous Glenfernate BBQ. We’ll be off on a very scenic tour of some of the local Glens not too far but far enough as lunch will be waiting for us in a local hostelry. Now, you’ll have had your fill so we’re off again winding our way through the beautiful Angus glens.

Monday, we’ll it’s nearly all over for another year, but wait is there time for a trip up to Daldhu Ooo yes there is.
